And He did not do many works of power there, because of their unbelief (their lack of faith in the divine mission of Jesus). (‭Matt ‭13‬:‭58‬)

Many times God leads people who have a stronger gift, a larger capacity or broader exposure into our lives to enable us grow our own gift and climb the ladder of success.

Those people could be our Jesus who would have performed many miracles in our lives.

Those people could just spark a fire in us to make us shine as the lights that we are.

But we allow familiarity to deprive us of the benefits of such relationships.

Unbelief sets in when you become too familiar with the person that you take him/her for granted.

Many of those people grew with us, went to school with us, are in our workplaces or we are in same churches with them, some are even our relations or Beloveds.

Before they start exhibiting their God-given talents and abilities we knew them, some we thought them, some we may have lent a few cedis to before, some we have dine with them etc.

In short we have become so familiar with them We begin to take them for granted.

We don’t see sense and purpose in what they may tell us, we don’t see potential in what they advise us to do. We just don’t see the value in them.

We start talking to them without discretion. We take their time for granted, we abuse their privacy all in the name of familiarity.

We enter their space and treat it irreverently. We sometimes questions them, we even doubt if they are for real.

We do all these and we lose people who might have been our doors to greater opportunities.

People who could be the shoulders for us to see a bigger world. People who could connect us to places where we could also make it.

In our failure to recognise these people we have lost vital virtues that might flow from them to us.
We have missed the good things others are enjoying because they have belief in those people we are taking for granted.

Let’s recognise potentials among us and appreciate what they are and what God is using them to do before it becomes too late to notice we missed a greater opportunity.

Let not the FOLLY of FAMILIARITY  prevent your JESUS from working MIRACLES In your life!!!

Functional PLACEMENT

Are you doing what you are supposed to be doing?

Do you find yourself where you should be?

Are you functioning to your optimum capacity where you have been placed?

Finally, are you really SATISFIED at what you are doing in Church, In school, at work or even at home/society????

If the whole body were an eye, where [would be the sense of] hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where [would be the sense of] smell? But as it is, God has placed and arranged the limbs and organs in the body, each [particular one] of them, just as He wished and saw fit and with the best adaptation. (‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭17-18‬ AMP)

God in his own wisdom gave each of us special abilities, one that will complement the work he  wants us to do on earth.

You can only function effectively when you are placed at the place your skills and abilities are required!

Don’t let what others say you can do based on what they have seen you do determine where you place your self and function. If you know you can’t perform don’t accept it and disgrace yourself by underperforming.

You must know yourself and what your capabilities are and utilize it to the maximum in any place where you have been placed.

It doesn’t matter what you can do, in the sight of God you are doing your best.

When you follow human applause and recommendations you will end up in a place you can’t fully function and then you will disappoint those who look up to you, those who have seen you exploits else where and have high expectations of you.

Get to know your passion, the things you do with joyful hearts that comes so easy and still produce the results for you.

The things that gladdens your heart. The things that you don’t get tired of talking about, learning or hearing about or even working on.

Don’t compare yourself to others, especially age mates, class mates or course mates and use them as yardstick to make permanent decisions as to where you will be placed.

Note that we all have special assignments on earth.

The sun for the day  and the moon for the night!

Know when it’s your time shine!!!

Are all apostles (special messengers)? Are all prophets (inspired interpreters of the will and purposes of God)? Are all teachers? Do all have the power of performing miracles? Do all possess extraordinary powers of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? (‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭29-30‬ AMP)

So do what you can at the place where you can function well.

Don’t be a Square Peg in a Round Hole!

As a Christian You can find your spiritual gift here in Rom 12:1 1cor 12:1-31 and operate in them as the grace abounds in your life!!

STOP EXCUSES!!! Don’t MISS service!!

Don’t MISS service!!

Sometimes we feel comfortable to miss service but that should not be the case. Our work in heaven will be that of being in his presence forever and ever singing and praising our maker!

“One day spent in your Temple is better than a thousand anywhere else; I would rather stand at the gate of the house of my God than live in the homes of the wicked. (‭Psalms‬ ‭84‬:‭10‬ GNB)”

In the above verse we see how David puts great importance on being in the temple of God than anywhere else.( which includes your house, your work place, friends place)

He added that he would rather be at the door of a church building than to be some where else where the things of God(singing praises, worship, praying, reading, fellowship,) are not exalted or done which he describes as the home of the wicked. If the place where you missed church for doesn’t do the above (praises, worship, prayer, reading and fellowship,) then it’s a home of the wicked.

“My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.

4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house, ever singing your praise! Selah

Psalms 84:2,4″

Being in the house of God is one thing a Christian should long for. When it’s time for service you must put a stop to everything and strive to be there. “Where two or more gathered in my name there I am in their Midst says The Lord”

So where will you be rather than the house of God.

“One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple.  Psalms 27:4”

There are so many benefits to be in the house of The Lord but because  the devil wants us to miss them he gives us so many excuses to be absent and then we only go there when we find ourselves in some kind of trouble or we have nothing doing at home, or there’s light out.

“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.  Psalms 16:11”

“Blessed is the one you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple!  Psalms 65:4”

Don’t ever get familiar with God and say in your heart that you have always been attending service so God will understand, no he wants to have constant fellowship with you among the brethren. He says “forsake not the assembling of the brethren”

You may miss a lot when you miss service. As a growing Christian you should rather be seen more in church than when you first believed. Remember your first love and how active you were and turn back to Him.

“For behold, those who are far from you shall perish; you put an end to everyone who is unfaithful to you.  Psalms 73:2”

Be faithful to him, don’t give excuses, don’t lie for not going, don’t be weary of attending services, no matter the day or time. Evening services are equally important as Sunday services.

Well you may think you have to still work and finish up some chores before coming to work but he said

“Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

Psalms 127:1″

So my dear friends it’s now time we continue steadfastly in fellowship and prayers.

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. Acts 2:42”
